This next picture is the kids with the night jasmine in front of the house. When I got this plant from Uncle Eric about this time last year, it was no larger than maybe 1 1/2 feet tall and maybe a foot wide. Now, it is taller than me! (Ok, no short jokes... I know it doesn't take much for something to be taller than 5 foot 4 me, but STILL!!! ) Fine, it's taller than Troy. You see how tall it is in the picture! Anyway, if you have never smelled a night jasmine at night you are SOO missing out! It smells like a little piece of heaven right in my front yard when it's blooming. I think it's one of our favorite smells, if not the absolute favorite. It isn't a pretty plant, but the smell makes it MORE than worth having! Oh, and if you are curious, the blooms are very small white star-like flowers. (Anyone notice Maw Cile's Christmas cactus behind Adam, in front of Megan? The Christmas cactus loves where it is and is doing SO well. I can't wait for it to start blooming again!)
And.... now for Megan's little cactus. She bought it with her own money about a week ago, and she is very proud of it. She asked if I would take a picture of her with her cactus by the front door.
This last picture is Megan in front of the garage. These plants need something that the vines can grow on. They are fairly new in the yard. I don't necessarily want to put a small treliss so I am trying to figure out what exactly I want to do with the beautiful flowering vines. I don't know what these are called either!
So there you have it. A little taste of my greenery in the front yard, along with a little information about the plants. Now I am just waiting for Troy to buy my pink hibiscus, since he KILLED my orange one!
